My approach is based strongly in scientific evidence. I
continually review medical literature and texts and also
collaborate with physicians and scientists on research.
However, all scientific discovery begins with the moment of
intuition. Without that moment of epiphany, there is no
hypothesis to prove. Helping families to develop the
ability to listen to that voice, and to trust it, is
central to my practice.
I feel it is necessary to listen to children’s and parents’
intuition in diagnosing and treating children, something I
find is often discouraged in the medical world. Rare is the
physician who asks a parent, “What do you think would be
best?” I feel strongly that parents know their children in
a way that a physician never can. In addition, I feel that
my success in treating children has come by listening to my
own intuition in the context of my scientific and medical
background as well as my knowledge of healing. In this way,
we work together as a team to care for your child.
